A few kind comments from some of our guests at Hibou Blanc...

"Hibou Blanc was a perfect house for a family holiday. A real home from home with every facility you could need. Great location for a nearby family-friendly beach with plenty of day trips within easy reach. Idyllic garden in which to relax while the children play!"

"Thanks for all your help and we really enjoyed the stay in your lovely house. So well equipped it felt like we stayed with friends. You have created a beautiful home and we thoroughly enjoyed it!"

"I cannot say enough about our experience in Normandy and staying at your beautiful home. We had a fantastic time and are already discussing when we should return! We thoroughly enjoyed Normandy and it was a great experience for our boys. We were joined by my sister and her husband and then by my parents – they are all raving about the house and the gardens … in fact I suspect you will receive a note from my Mother to that effect!
We have stayed in many properties across the globe and over the years through VRBO or similar setups, without question your property not only lived up to its description it far exceeded it. We forgot that we had entered a business transaction with you and felt as if we were welcomed openly and warmly into the home of friends.
Your property was very well supplied in all aspects (towels, kitchen equipments, utensils etc). I cannot think of anything that was missing or under supplied. A very big thank you for your directions and guidance/recommendation notes – they were a godsend and such a time saver. We did the circular walk several times (very pleasant), we had dinner not once but twice in La Panoramique, we took your guidance on the boulangeries etc and ate too much good food."

"We’ve had such a great holiday and are very pleased with ourselves having discovered what you described as Normandy’s ‘hidden gem’. There were so many things we enjoyed; eating outside at the Marina; watching the fishing boats arrive and unload their fish. One of our friends is a great cook and got very excited buying genuinely fresh fish. He said cooking in your kitchen was a real treat and he certainly produced some delicious meals for the rest of us. But I have to tell you what we all enjoyed best was an evening drink on the terrace looking over the sea to the Vauban Tower – magical. Thank you."

"We did enjoy our all-too-brief visit to Hibou Blanc and I can well understand why it is your "favourite place on earth". So many books there I'd like to read, so many CDs I wished there had been time to listen to - altogether our sort of place and we consider ourselves fortunate to have discovered it. The garden was great for Charlotte aged 6 and Jamie aged 4, so thank you for leaving out toys and buckets and spades.
We loved your Barfleur pottery and visited the Pottery hoping there would be tiles for sale. Sadly not, and as you will know they have to be ordered. Thank you for making your lovely house available - we appreciated it. Verity did glimpse an Hibou as we returned from supper, just at the darkening the first evening we were there!"

"I think my husband thought he had died and gone to heaven when he went into Gosselin’s cave for a special bottle of wine. He got talking to Bertrand – (sorry can’t remember his surname) and had a wonderful time talking about red wine. We loved the house. It was perfect for us – we were six adults – we never got in each other’s way the house has been so well designed and we did our own thing during the day.
Between us, we covered a lot of ground and did many of the things you had suggested taking in a mixture of the D Day Cemeteries, golf and lazing on a beach. We always ate together and had super evenings sitting around the dining table sipping calvados until the early hours. We have come home knowing a great deal more about the ‘Landings’ and feeling relaxed and refreshed. Thank you."

"Dear Jill and Anthony just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our week at your lovely house. From the minute we arrived the children just took off rushing round the gardens. They were so excited when they realised they could see the sea from the garden. It was great to know they could rush around without us having to worry about traffic. In fact that was one of the most attractive aspects of the beaches – absence of crowds.
We tried the three beaches you recommended and finally settled on making regular visits to Pointe de Saire, because John and our eldest like to sail and they hired a catamaran several times (once they sailed round Tatihou!) and the young ones were happy to explore the rocks and build sandcastles. I could keep my eyes on them and sunbathe at the same time – perfect."
